Andhra Pradesh: Flood levels expected to drop today
While flood level at Munneru rivulet came down to 85,000 cusecs, Wyra, Katteleru and other rivulets upstream of Prakasam Barrage continued to overflow, forcing officials to lift all 73 gates on Monday, releasing 1.8 lakh cusecs of water. However, officials estimate that flood levels will come down by Tuesday evening. Penuganchiprolu, Nandigama and Kanchikacherla were particularly affected following floods in Munneru rivulet.
GHMC demolishes dilapidated buildings near Hussainsagar
With water level in Hussainsagar rising due to the heavy rains lashing the city, the GHMC demolished old and dilapidated buildings on Monday and asked people residing in areas around the lake to vacate their houses to avoid any untoward incidents.

Telangana govt looks to tame flood menace with new policy
Looking for a permanent solution to mitigate the flood situation in the state, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday directed the revenue, irrigation and other disaster management officials to prepare a policy to come up with flood management in Telangana. The water level of Godavari at the barrage has crossed 18.20 feet and likely to further rise, while 19.69 lakh cusecs of water is being released into the sea from the barrage

Andhra Pradesh CM instructs officials to be on high alert, ahead of Godavari floods
Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday instructed officials to be on high alert in wake of the Godavari floods and provide all necessary relief to the affected people. During a review meeting on the flood situation with the Collectors of East and West Godavari districts, the chief minister said that there should be preparedness from the official side and succour should be provided to people living in low lying areas.
Telangana CM reviews flood situation, orders relief on war footing
Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday reviewed the rain and flood situation in the state and directed the officials to undertake rescue and relief operations on a war footing, wherever necessary. He directed the official machinery to be on high alert as the state was experiencing heavy rainfall and floods and take the necessary measures to prevent any loss to property or lives.

Andhra Pradesh: Godavari was flowing well above the danger mark at Bhadrachalam in Khammam district, resulting in the inundation of several low-lying areas in Bhadrachalam and Pinaka.
The river breached the third warning level of 53 feet on Sunday night and touched 60 feet on Monday. Central Water Commission (CWC) officials have warned that the water level could reach 63 feet on Monday night as heavy inflows continued from catchment areas.
Continuing rains led to incidents of house collapse in different parts of Telangana. At least a dozen people were injured in the incidents.

Telangana: Several residential areas in Warangal remained inundated due to continuous rains. Authorities shifted people from inundated areas to the makeshift relief camps. Continuing rains led to incidents of house collapse in different parts of the state. At least a dozen people were injured in the incidents.
