England vs Pakistan (ENG vs PAK) 2nd Test Day 5 Live Cricket Score Updates: Another day of bad weather is predicted in Southampton on Monday, the final day of the second Test between hosts England and Pakistan. Pakistan claimed the wicket of opener Rory Burns for a duck on Sunday to leave England seven for one in their first innings, but rain forced an early close to day four in the rain-hit second test at the Rose Bowl.
England bowled out the tourists for 236, with top scorer Mohammad Rizwan (72) being the last Pakistani batsman to be dismissed, and then managed only five overs of their reply.
Rain did stop but it is the outfield that is wet and unfit to play. Umpires have called for LUNCH that means another session is lost. It is also been reported that the officials will again have a look at the conditions before taking any decisions.
Next Inspection is at 12.55 PM (local time) (5:25 IST).
"Imagine taking a kid to a Test match. They have looked forward to it all week. It gets a bit dark, they turn the lights on and 10 minutes later they are walking off. The kid turns to you & says 'why are they going off? and you say ‘the light’s not good enough?"
It’s still wet, says commentator Isa Guha. Seems like a long day ahead
No luck so far. It stopped raining for a while but it is back and the next inspection is scheduled at noon local time i.e 4.30pm IST. Not going to get hopes up for any live cricket action today.
Rain in Southampton has delayed the start of the final day of the 2nd Test. Even if the rain subsides, outfield at the Ageas Bowl is very wet after an overnight thunderstorm. The umpires will make an inspection at 3.30pm IST (11am BST)
As expected, the weather is not in the favour of cricket in Southampton right now. It is raining. There was thunderstorm during the night. It looks like weather is going to win the 2nd Test while England and Pakistan will settle for a draw.
