PATIALA: Exhibiting worth emulating noble gesture towards the cops, working relentlessly as frontline warriors in Patiala district, the SSP Patiala has announced a special leave on the occasions of their birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
Announcing the decision Patiala SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said, "Police is the law enforcement wing of any society. As emergency service providers, they are at the frontline of fighting any crisis that the society faces. Mostly, they have to work constantly in high-stress situations, thus, taking a toll on their family life and personal wellbeing."
He said that the main objective behind this decision is to provide our police personnel the time and space to enjoy and cherish their special personal moments.
District police chief, who issued these orders, further said that under the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, the role of Patiala police has been much appreciated, with police personnel being involved in activities ranging from curfew enforcement to celebrate birthdays of the general public. He said that the situation was such that police officials had to work tirelessly and selflessly, thereby not being able to pay needed attention to their personal affairs.
"As police respond to a multitude of problems due to the unprecedented spread of virus, it is important that all of us should remember that police continues to fight this unseen enemy in very difficult circumstances. It goes without saying that police leadership particularly recognises the role of police families in upholding the strong tradition of valour and sacrifice of Punjab Police. For every victory of Punjab, the police are backed by the undying support of their families. It is hoped that this will encourage the morale of our forces and improve our performance in all spheres of work, he added.
