Three IPS officers shifted after spate of murders in Uttar Pradesh, nine others transferred too

LUCKNOW: Taking a strict note to incidents of murders in Pratapgarh, Gorakhpur and Azamgarh, the Uttar Pradesh government ordered transfer of these three district police chiefs along with nine others on Sunday.
Senior superintendent of police, Gorakhpur, Sunil Gupta was shifted in the same capacity as SP Training and Security at DGP headquarters in Lucknow, while SP GRP in Agra, Jogendra Kumar was made the new SSP Gorakhpur.
Gupta was shifted hours after a lawyer - Rajeshwar Pandey was shot dead in Gorakhpur.
Similarly, SP Pratapgarh, Abhishek Singh was shifted in the same capacity to Bagpat, while SP Bijnor, Sanjeev Tyagi was made the new police chief of Pratapgrah. Singh was shifted hours after a man and his son were killed in a clash in the district.
Likewise, for failing to control the mob and incident in which a gram pradhan was shot dead, SP Azamgarh Triveni Singh was shifted in the same capacity as SP cyber crime in Lucknow while, SSP STF Sudhir Singh was made the new police head of Azamgarh.
Others who were transferred included SP human rights Ganesh Saha, who was shifted as DCP in GB nagar commissionerate.
Whereas, in January this year, Saha who was then posted as SP Banda was removed on allegations of graft levelled by the then SSP GB Nagar Vaibhav Krishna.
On the other hand, DCP GB nagar, Sankalp Sharma was made the new SP of Badaun and SP badaun Ashok Tripathi was shifted in the same capacity to Human rights in DGP headquarters.
SP training and security Manikya Chandra Saroj was made SP vigilance.
Whereas, SP Mirzapur Dharamvir Singh was made the new police chief of Bijnore and SP Bagpat Ajay Kumar Singh was made the new police chief of Mirzapur.
