India's Covid-19 tally increased to 25,89,682 with a single-day spike of 63,490 cases, while the total number of recoveries rose to 18,62,258 pushing the recovery rate to 71.91 per cent on Sunday. The number of Covid-19 cases in Gujarat rose by 1,120 to 78,783 on Sunday, state Health department said. With 20 more patients succumbing to the infection, including eight in Surat, the cumulative toll went up to 2,787 in the state, it said. A total of 959 patients were discharged in the day, taking the number of recoveries to 61,496, the department said. Gujarat is now left with 14,500 active cases, out of which the condition of 82 patients is critical, the department said.
Chandigarh records 93 new Covid-19 cases, one more death, reports PTI quoting officials
Madhya Pradesh reported its highest single-day spike of 1,022 coronavirus cases on Sunday, pushing the state's overall count to 45,455, state health officials said. The death toll rose to 1,105 as 11 patients succumbed to the infection, the officials said.

449 new Covid-19 cases take J-K's tally to 28,470; 15 fatalities push death toll to 542
Jammu and Kashmir recorded 449 new instances of the coronavirus infection, taking the total number cases reported in the Union Territory to 28,470 on Sunday, while 15 Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours, officials said. According to them all the 15 deaths were from the Kashmir Valley. With this, the death toll in the Union Territory has risen to 542, of which 501 were from the Valley and 41 from the Jammu region, they said.
