ICAR Goa goes online to impart goat management training to farmers
A five-day online vocational training programme was recently conducted by the North Goa-based Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR-CCARI on the scientific management of goats.

PANAJI: A five-day online vocational training programme was recently conducted by the North Goa-based Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR-CCARI on the scientific management of goats.
Dr Udharwar Sanjaykumar Vithalrao who specializes in animal science at the institute coordinated with farmers for the training programme and gave lectures on importance, advantages, scope of goat farming and various breeds suitable for Goa.
The farmers were also given practical exposure on castration of male kids, determination of age, identification of animals, preparation of concentrate feed, cultivation of green fodder and health care management etc. A total of 28 participants from different parts of Goa attended the training. Following the programme, e-Certificates were issued to all the participants that attended.
