Doctors of
Tamil Nadu Government Doctors Association (
TNGDA) on Sunday met state health secretary J
Radhakrishnan at
Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) and demanded to provide Rs 2 lakh to doctors affected due to
Covid-19.
Led by TNGDA state president Dr K Senthil, they put forth various demands, including increment in salary for doctors, who were on Covid-19 duty.
The association also demanded Rs 25 Lakh compensation from state and Rs 50 Lakh insurance from Centre for deceased frontline workers.
They also demanded to immediately dispense salary to doctors who joined duty from June 1.
Long-term demands of TNGDA, including time-bound promotions and increment for specialists were also put forth.
The health secretary assured that the government will look into the demands and do the needful.
