Civil defence cadet held for B'luru riots

Bengaluru: A civil defence cadet who played a key role in blocking roads on the night of the riots and prevented police from taking control of the situation, and a senior member of an outfit called Tipu Army were among 60 people arrested on Friday for their alleged involvement in the violence that erupted on Tuesday night at the KG Halli, Kavalbyrasandra and DJ Halli areas of east Bengaluru. So far, a total of 206 suspects have been arrested and 22 FIRs registered in connection with the rioting over a Facebook post. Police have shifted 84 of the accused to Ballari prison by bus on Friday.
