JAIPUR: Rajasthan High Court on Friday reserved its order for Monday on the petitions challenging the merger of six BSP MLAs into Congress and the order of the Speaker approving the merger on September 18 last year.
Hearing the petitions moved by BJP MLA Madan Dilawar and BSP, the court directed that the Speaker should not give any order on the disqualification petition of the six MLAs -- Sandeep Yadav, Wajib Ali, Deepchand Kheria, Lakhan Meena, Jogendra Awana and Rajendra Gudha -- filed by one Vijay Singh.
Dilawar had challenged the merger in court and filed a petition before the Speaker in March this year, which was rejected on July 24. He challenged the Speaker's decision in the HC and demanded a stay on the merger. Similarly, BSP filed a separate petition challenging the merger.
