Plan to bring corona vaccine to all Indians is ready; 3 vaccines are currently in testing phase: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the plan to vaccinate every Indian with coronavirus vaccine is ready. During his Independence Day speech from Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ”Our roadmap to bring corona vaccine to all Indians in the shortest possible time is ready.”

PM Modi began his Independence Day speech by paying tributes to the frontline corona warriors. “I bow down to all the Corona warriors who are putting up a brave fight in these times of crisis. In these times of COVID, Corona warriors have lived the mantra of ‘Seva Parmo Dharma’ and served the people of India,” he said.

During his speech, he also pushed for Aatmanirbhar Bharat. “Amid COVID-19 pandemic, 130 crore Indians took the resolve to be self-reliant, and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ is on the mind of India. This dream is turning into a pledge. Aatmanirbhar Bharat has become a ‘mantra’ for the 130 crore Indians today,” he said. “We will achieve victory over this coronavirus with the resolve of people of country,” he added.

He said a few months back we used to import N-95 masks, PPE kits, and ventilators. But, today, India is not only meeting its own requirements but it has also stepped forward to help other countries.

Regarding vaccine for coronavirus, he said three indigenous COVID-19 vaccines are currently in the testing phase in India. “As soon as the green signal is received from scientists, the country is ready for mass production and distribution of vaccines,” he said.
The whole world, including India, is reeling under the COVID-19 pandemic. India is the third-worst affected nation in the world. Coronavirus has infected over 2.45 million Indians so far.
