Tamil Nadu governor Banwarilal Purohit on Friday tested negative for
Covid-19.
A medical bulletin from a city hospital, released by Raj Bhavan said, “His grit and determination helped in his speedy recovery, and he continues to remain active.”
When Purohit walked from presidential suite to main building, his secretary Anandrao V Patil, ADC to governor Major Ajay PS Rathore, senior officials and staff members clapped and welcomed him.
Anandrao also presented a bouquet to Purohit in the presence of a medical team.
The governor tested positive on August 2. He visited the private hospital and underwent further tests and assessment. Since the infection was found to be mild, the hospital advised him for home isolation and deployed a medical team from the hospital to monitor him.
Purohit, 80, assumed office in October 2017.
