Representative image. PATNA: Police on Friday arrested two youths for allegedly gang-raping a 45-year-old widow from their rented accommodation at Malahi Pakdi under Kankarbagh police station area in the Bihar capital.
The arrested accused youths were identified as Sujeet Kumar (22) and Kaushal Kumar (23). Both were native of Noorsarai in Nalanda district. Both were forwarded to jail too on Friday.
Kankarbagh police station SHO Ajay Kumar said the duo knew the widow since several months.
"It was Sujeet who had invited her to their accommodation on name of celebrating his birthday party," he said.
SHO said that the victim, a mother of three children, reached at their residence on Wednesday night after which they raped her.
"On Thursday morning, she reached at Kankarbagh police station directly from their residence and narrated entire incident to police. An FIR was registered on basis of her written complaint against Sujeet and Kaushal," he said.
SHO Kumar said that the medical examination of the victim was conducted on Friday while the step of getting her statement recorded before a judicial magistrate was pending. "It would also be done by Monday,” he said.
SHO said that the clothes of the victim were seized which would be sent for forensic analysis.
