EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

The Indian markets edged up half a per cent on Friday ahead of the SC hearing on telcos' AGR dues later in the day.
The S&P BSE Sensex added 152 points at 38,460 levels and the Nifty50 index hovered around the 11,350-mark. Reliance Industries, Larsen & Toubro, and Sun Pharma (all up 1%) were the top Sensex gainers.
Besides, Eicher Motors slipped over 3 per cent in early deals after posting a net loss of Rs 55 crore in the June quarter results (Q1FY21). Hero MotoCorp was also trading lower after reporting a 95 per cent YoY dip in Q1 net profit.
The Nifty sectoral indies were trading largely in the green, led by Nifty Pharma index, up 2.5 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty Auto index dipped over 1 per cent.
In the broader market, the S&P BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes were trading 0.12 and 0.58 per cent higher, respectively.

A total of 231 companies including Glenmark Pharma, Berger Paints, and HIndalco Industries are scheduled to announce their June quarter earnings today.
