Covid-19: Record 2,997 new infections in West Bengal

KOLKATA: Bengal recorded its highest one-day spike in Covid cases on Thursday with 2,997 fresh infections, taking the cumulative tally to 1,07,323. There were 56 fresh deaths, taking total fatalities to 2,259.
With 16 deaths, Kolkata went past the grim milestone of 1,000 deaths. The state also tested a record 30,032 samples on Thursday.
