Thane shops to be open till 7pm from August 15

THANE: In a major relaxation of lockdown rules, the Thane Municipal Corporation has allowed shops to operate from 9am till 7pm daily from August 15. This was announced by minister Eknath Shinde, following a Covid review meeting with civic chief Dr. Vipin Sharma and traders on Thursday.
“Shops will remain open daily, except in containment zones and hotspots. We have asked traders to follow the safety protocol,” said Shinde. A decision on opening malls and shopping centres is likely to be taken soon.
