Three suspicious fires in one night damage homes, cars in Highgate Hill
Crime scenes have been declared on two inner-Brisbane streets after a series of suspicious fires damaged a home and cars overnight.
Police were first called to a house on Franklin Street in Highgate Hill about 9.30pm on Wednesday after reports of a blaze, with fire crews able to extinguish it quickly.

They were called back a short time later to a fire at a second home in the street which was "extensively damaged", police said in a statement.
Meanwhile, a third fire was reported at a unit block on Hampstead Road, damaging cars parked underneath.
No one was injured in either of the fires, with police now asking for people who might have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
