The Local Disease Control Center (CDC) of Schengen collected samples of chicken sent from Brazil during routine investigations. Upon investigation, the report came back positive. Officials said on Thursday that samples of other food products shipped with chicken from Brazil have come negative. Currently, Brazil has not issued any statement on this.

Last week, lobster fish sent from Ecuador were also said to be infected. In June, China stopped meat imports from some other countries, including Brazil. However, it was later lifted.

The Schengen CDC has advised caution in eating food products from other countries. In June, there were reported infections in China's capital Beijing's Shinfady Seafood Market. Since then, the government is taking a sample of all food products and getting its corona tested.

A person was infected here in April and was found positive again on Monday. However, there are no signs of infection. None of the people who came in contact with these two patients are infected but have been quarantined.
