Covid-19: With six more deaths, total tally in Kerala up to 127

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state reported 1,212 positive cases and 880 recoveries on Wednesday. Six more deaths were recorded, taking the total tally to 127. So far, the state has seen 38,144 cases, which of 13,045 are active cases.
Among the new cases, 1,097 contracted the disease through contacts, of which the source of 45 is not known. The contact cases also include 22 healthcare workers, six coast guard personnel from INSH and one KSE employee from Thrissur. As many as 51 people had come from abroad and 64 had travelled other states.
Thiruvananthapuram district reported the most number of new cases, at 266, followed by Malappuram (261), Ernakulam (121) and Alappuzha (118). While Kozhikode posted 93 new cases, Palakkad saw 81 cases, Kottayam 76, Kasaragod 68, Idukki 42 and Kannur 31, Pathanamthitta and Thrissur recorded 19 cases each, while 12 were in Wayanad and five in Kollam.
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said a member of the media team covering the Pettimudy landslide has tested positive. Following this all mediapersons who had come into close contact with this person have been quarantined.
