Re-opening schools: Schools can open from this date!

31

Schools closed since March due to Corona infection can be opened from September. The government has denied any plans about reopening the schools, with parents also not showing interest to send the children back to school. The question is when and how the schools will be reopened. There is no information about this now, but we are going to tell you what the possibilities are if the schools open.

Opening of schools in batches - Schools can be opened first for students of senior classes 9 to 12 and then later for students of classes 6 to 8. Though nothing is yet to be done, an MHRD official shared that the limit will be fixed for class sizes and hours as well. According to the information shared, schools may be allowed two innings of a batch with a maximum of 15 students in each class.

Cleanliness etc. will also be taken care of within 24 hours of classroom use. According to the information shared, schools may need to ensure that the same room is not used for 24 hours after class.

Reducing school hours - A model of opening school in 2 batches of 4 hours can be adopted. It is being suggested that students be called in batches for a maximum duration of 4 to 5 hours which may be of 2 hours duration for two subjects or one and half hours duration for 3 subjects.

It is mandatory for all schools to strictly enforce safety measures such as temperature check, face mask and shield on student entry and exit, and a minimum distance of 6 meters between two students.

Any brake or assembly may not be normal. The rationale behind reduced hours for schools is to remove lunch breaks. A 3 to 4 hour school can be operated without the required lunch break in between.
