Let me tell you that on 4 February 1922, a soldier trampled the Gandhi cap of Satyagrahi from the foot. At this, the blood of the satyagrahis boiled and fiercely protested. On this, the police started firing, in which 11 satyagrahis were killed on the spot and more than 50 were injured. Angry revolutionaries set the police checkpoint on fire and burnt 23 policemen, including Daroga, in which 19 people were hanged. Mahatma Gandhi called for a boycott of foreign cloth, quitting English studies, and making clothes by spinning wheel. His Satyagraha movement was bringing color to the whole country.
On Saturday, February 4, 1922, Satyagrahis gathered at Bhopa Bazaar in Chaurichora and were passing in front of the police station in a procession. The then Thanedar declared the procession illegal. Satyagrahi became angry when a soldier crushed the Gandhi cap. When opposed, the police started firing on the procession. In which 11 satyagrahis were killed on the spot while more than 50 were injured. When the bullet ended, the policemen ran towards the police station. They were run over by a raging mob. Took a tin kerosene oil from the shop near the police station.
After laying the burden of Munj and Sarpat in the police station premises, poured kerosene on it and set it on fire. When the Thanedar tried to escape, the mob caught him and threw him into the fire. In this case, a soldier Muhammad Siddiqui escaped and reached Jhangha and informed the then Collector of Gorakhpur about the incident.

Thanedar Gupteshwar Singh, Deputy Inspector Armed Police Force Prithvi Pal Singh, Head Constable Vashir Khan, Kapil Dev Singh, Lakhai Singh, Raghuveer Singh, Visheshar Ram Yadav, Muhammad Ali, Hasan Khan, Gadabakhsh Khan, Jama Khan, Magaru Chaubey, Rambali Pandey, Kapil Dev, Indrasan Singh, Ramlakhan Singh, Mardana Khan, Jagdev Singh, Jagai Singh, and Chowkidar Bazir, Ghinsai, Jathai, and Katwaru Ram, who came to the police station to collect their salaries, were killed that day.
