Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon Lands In Australia And Is Capped At 100 Units

Off-road enthusiasts in Australia will have a new vehicle to fawn over in the shape of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon, which will be available in 4-Door and 2-Door guises and limited to just 100 units.

The limited-run SUV will consist of 60 4-Door and 40 2-Door models. All examples come complete with a matte black hood and fender vent decals as well as a black front grille and black 17-inch wheels.

Elsewhere, Jeep has fitted the Wrangler Rubicon Recon with a steel front bumper as well as a Jeep Performance Parts ‘Bumper Hood’ and a Jeep Performance Parts ‘Tailgate Reinforcement System.’ Those wanting something a little more special can opt for the Recon Premium Package that adds a body-color three-piece hardtop roof and body-color fender flares.

Inside, all Wrangler Rubicon Recon models include Torch Red seat belts matched with a premium-wrapped instrument mid-panel and red stitching. The off-roader comes standard with black leather seats, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and the Trail-Rail Management System.

“A 2-Door Jeep Wrangler Rubicon continues to be a much-desired proposition amongst the Australian off-roading community, and we’re so excited to make this dream a reality with the Recon special edition,” Jeep Australia director of brand & product strategy Guillaume Drelon said in a statement.

“It offers the everyday practicality many seek, whilst remaining adventure-ready. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Recon is rugged, off-road ready and the most capable 4×4 straight off the showroom floor. It is truly up to any challenge passionate 4×4 enthusiasts throw at it.”

All 100 units bound for the production line come with the Wrangler’s 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. Prices for the 2-Door start at AU$66,950 (US$47,688) before on-road costs, while the 4-Door starts at AU$71,450 (US$50,894) before on-road costs. Premium paint is an AU$745 (US$530) option, while the Recon Premium Package will cost you an extra AU$3,000 (US$2,136).
