A Chinese man who weighs 20 stones has been saved by firefighters after he became trapped in a well at his backyard.
The 28-year-old, known by his surname Liu, accidentally fell into the dry well and got stuck when he was trying to seal the deserted structure, according to the local fire services.
Nearly a dozen rescuers joined forces and lifted Mr Liu out of the well after tying ropes around the resident's body.

The incident was brought to light when the fire department in China’s central province Henan was called to Mr Liu’s home on Friday.
The man, who weighs about 125 kilograms (20 stones), is said to have been wedged inside the well for ‘being too heavy’, the authorities said in a social media post.
Footage released by Luoyang Fire Brigade shows the trapped resident with his upper body naked and arms crossed together, seemingly annoyed, as he waited to be freed from the well.
Mr Liu was trying to fill in the dry well with wood and rubbish before the incident occurred, his family told the firemen.

After evaluating the situation, the firefighters decided to tie rescue ropes around Mr Liu’s body and wrap another belt on the man’s waist.

Mr Liu is said to have remained unscathed after he was freed from the well.
