Heartwarming moment a breast cancer sufferer's friends present her with a wig made of their own hair
- Dana McSwain, 36, had been diagnosed with Stage 2 metastatic breast cancer
- The mother of two, from North Carolina, turned to a Facebook group for advice
- Just days later members of the group gifted Dana a wig using their own hair
This is the heartwarming moment a woman with breast cancer was gifted a wig made from her friends' own hair.
Dana McSwain, 36, from Charlotte, North Carolina, had been struggling to come to terms with her Stage 2 metastatic breast cancer diagnosis, and so turned to a local Facebook group to ask for advice.
The mother-of-two said she had looked into potentially purchasing a wig for herself but the cost had proved to be too much.
She had explained on the private Facebook chat the kind of wig she had hoped for and just days later one of her friends, and fellow group member, Carol Daley Cook arrived at her front door with a gift.
Dana said she noticed Carol's hair had been cut and when she opened the package she discovered the exact crown wig she had wanted in order to wear it under hats.
In the video, which was originally recorded on July 18, Dana can be seen rummaging around in a pink gift bag to retrieve the present which was wrapped in tissue paper.
She becomes overwhelmed with emotion as she realises it is the wig she had been hoping for and says: 'I feel like I'm going to cry.'

Carol later informed Dana (pictured centre with her friends sporting breast cancer face masks) that about 20 financial donors from the group had made the wig possible and some had even donated their hair
Dana inhales a deep breath and fiddles with the brunette strands of hair as she exclaims: 'Look at that.'
She then rushes to try it on underneath a baseball cap before saying: 'Oh my gosh, it feels amazing.'
Carol, who was behind the camera, later informed Dana that about 20 financial donors from the group had made the wig possible and some had even donated their hair.
Hair donors included Carol, Sara Curry, Georgia Dabbs, Kate Harrison, Ashley Broome and Tamara Brown.

Dana said the wig has helped her feel herself again particularly as she has two daughters who look up to princesses and mermaids who have long, flowing locks.
Dana said: 'Opening the gift, I felt proud, I felt empowered, I felt supported and I felt loved.
'When you look in a mirror and don't even recognize yourself and someone, as selfless as these women, go out of their way to make you feel pretty again - it's indescribable.
'I felt genuine happiness, I felt blessed, and I want everyone going through a cancer diagnosis to know that they are not alone.'
