Two crashes on major Brisbane morning commutes have caused headaches for motorists, with one creating delays of almost an hour.

Police and towing services were called to the inbound lanes of the Centenary Bridge about 7am after a two-car accident. Paramedics did not attend the scene.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads urged motorists to allow extra time as congestion quickly built back to the Ipswich Motorway.

All lanes were cleared and reopened just after 7.30am.

But inbound delays on the Centenary Motorway were still about 50 minutes by 8am, according to mapping data.

At Tingalpa, a three-vehicle crash northbound on the Gateway Motorway about 7.20am left traffic banked back about 15 kilometres to Eight Mile Plains.

One patient was transported to the Mater Hospital in a stable condition.
