Picture used for representational purpose onlyHISAR: Three days after a woman tourist from Thailand, was allegedly gang-raped at a hotel, she recorded her statement on Monday before a magistrate with the help of a translator from the Thai embassy.
The 40-year-old tourist had allegedly been raped by the owner-cum-manager of the hotel where she was staying and his accomplice on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. The hotel owner has been arrested, but the other accused is at large.
SP Gangaram Poonia said with the help of a translator from the Thai embassy, the victim’s statement has been recorded before the magistrate under Section 164 of the CrPC. In her statement, she has repeated the charges made in the police complaint against the hotel owner.
On the question of the arrest of the second accused in the case, the SP said he is being identified with the help of CCTV footage. Earlier, a case was registered at the HTM police station against Gulshan Kumar, the owner of Regency Hotel and the other person.
