On Thursday before the opening round of the PGA Championship, MyTwoCents (via Sport24) advised in this column to back Collin Morikawa at 33-1 for the win with Justin Rose as a back-up at 70-1. A small bet would have paid for your News24 subscriptions for a few years. Forgive us for waxing our own car but you have to sing when you are winning right?! Rose himself was in the hunt in the final round so there might just be something in our golf dice.

SO WHO IS MORIKAWA? FUN FACTS
If you thought this was a flash in the pan, you haven't been paying enough attention.
Morikawa started his PGA Tour career with 22 consecutive made cuts, just three shy of the record set by Tiger Woods who began his career with 25.
Morikawa has already won three PGA Tour titles at the age of 23 with 2 runner-up finishes.
Morikawa was once the top ranked amateur in the world.
Morikawa is the first tour rookie to win a major since Keegan Bradley in 2011.
Morikawa is the fourth youngest player behind Jack Nicklaus, Woods and Rory McIlroy to win a major.
Morikawa grew up in California and is half Japanese.
KOEPKA MORE BARK THAN BITE RIGHT NOW
Brooks Koepka has been making more noise off the course than on it of late. The outspoken 4-time Major champ has recently taken pops at anyone who has crossed his path ... and even those who haven't. Bryson DeChambeau, Brandel Chamblee, Nick Faldo and now old pal Dustin Johnson. When asked before the final round who to look out for on the leaderboard he replied that none of them up there had won any majors and DJ had only won 1 compared to his 4 so ...
MYTWOCENTS VERDICT: Unlike other sports, golf is not used to smack talk like that. Even mild mannered and diplomatic Rory McIlroy was taken aback by the comments but couldn't resist a jab of his own by pointing out that Dustin's 23 PGA Tour wins are more than 3 times more than Koepka's so he shouldn't talk. If you believe in karma ... it came back to bite Koepka who delivered one of his worst final rounds in a long time, a 4-over 74 to fall off the leaderboard.
Koepka is in danger of becoming the Nick Kyrgios of golf ... you don't want to be that guy!
