The list is available at mu.ac.in as well as on the individual websites of each college. Due to the pandemic, the entire admission process has gone online.
Those who match with the cut-off marks will have to get their documents verified after which seats will be given on the basis of merit. Those who could not get their college or course of preference in the first list can also shift after the release of the second list. There are expected to be only three merit lists.
The procedure of verification of documents and payment based on the second merit list will be open till August 17, up to 3 pm. Thereafter, a third merit list will be released on the evening of August 17. At the time of first merit lists, students had faced issues in reaching the websites, in case the issue prevails, students will have to be patient as no offline mode of merit list is being offered.

In the second merit list released by Xavier's College, students who have passed class 12 in commerce from Maharashtra state board having marks from 76.77 per cent to 53.69 per cent have been shortlisted for admission to BCom. For students from other boards, the marks of selected students range from 94.8 per cent to 91.4 per cent.
For admission to Jai Hind College under the first cut-off list for BSc IT course, students shortlisted included those having 98% to 88% marks in science, 83% for arts, and 99 to 80% for commerce. The cut-off varied for special category students.
In the first merit list for Mumbai University, for admission to BMS course at Xavier's college - students belonging to other boards needed to gave 92.87% marks and for Maharashtra Board, the cut-off was 85.03%. For BSc IT, the cut-off score calculation is based on marks obtained in mathematics. The cut-off went as high as 94%
Those who had applied for admission in the first list and now wish to change their course or college have the liberty to do so. To apply for a new course, students will first have to cancel admission in old course/college by emailing their department and then apply for admission under the second cut-off list. The same needs to be done before the deadline

While the admissions for fresh first-year students is on, the decision on final year exams is not out yet. Despite the state government order stated that it will not hold exams, the UGC in SC has said that state governments do not have the right and UGC is the final authority. The final decision on exams is yet to be declared by the SC.
In the first cut-off released earlier, there was a rise in cutoff for BCom is 4.5 percentage points higher than last year. Overall, the trend this time is towards newer courses like BSc (computer science), BSc (biotechnology), besides BCom, the university officials informed.
Due to the coronavirus-induced lockdown, there has been a delay in conducting entrance exams — Common Entrance Test, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Joint Entrance Examination — for professional courses in law, engineering, pharmacy and medicine. The first merit list, as expected, saw a spike in the cut-off for science courses and a marginal rise in others across popular city colleges. This year, experts claim that cut-offs across colleges will rise as the students who had earlier considered abroad as an option are also looking for Indian universities. Further, the board exams results have lead to a higher number of students scoring 90+%
