Covid-19 positive Karnataka health minister goes to government hospital, wins praise

BENGALURU: Karnataka health minister B Sriramulu, who was once identified with the rich Ballari mining lobby, has set an example by getting himself admitted to a government hospital after turning positive for Covid-19.
CM BS Yediyurappa and his predecessor Siddaramaiah, who also tested positive a week ago, were admitted to a private hospital, drawing criticism for their alleged lack of faith in government healthcare.
Sriramulu sprang a surprise by getting admitted to Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Shivajinagar on Sunday. The first cabinet minister to get into a government Covid-19 facility had Twitter applauding. “Wow! That’s something! Health Minister getting himself admitted to sarkaari Bowring Hospital for Covid-19 treatment after turning positive #WhatAShowOfConfidence kudos to @sriramulubjp,” tweeted civic activist Srinivas Alavilli.
