Gurgaon: Although the city has been reporting less than 100
Covid-19 cases on an average daily, the health department has increased the number of
camps for the fourth phase of rapid antigen and RT-PCR testing. Officials said areas that have reported at least five cases in the past few weeks will be covered at 71 camps across 16 urban primary health centres (UPHCs) and primary health centres (PHCs).
“Areas such as
Garhi Harsaru,
Daultabad and
Bhondsi where camps have not been organised yet will be covered. They have at least five active cases,” said Dr MP Singh, urban nodal officer, district health department.
Camps in the fourth phase will be organised across UPHCs and PHCs in Badshapur, Wazirabad, Chanderlok, Fazilpur, Basai, Manesar, Bhangrola, Sukhrali, Daultabad, Naharpur Rupa, Garhi Harsaru, Kasan, Tigra, Sohna, Rajendra Park and Bhondsi.
In the past one week, the department has conducted 17,978 tests — 9,626 antigen and 5,493 RT-PCR. The first phase of antigen testing was held from June 30 to July 14 in eight large outbreak regions while the second round was held from July 15 to July 28. The third round was held from July 29 to August 7, while the fourth phase will conduct tests from August 8 to August 14. The schedule for the fifth phase will be announced after that.
As per the guidelines, if a symptomatic person tests negative after antigen testing, he or she has to undergo an RT-PCR test for confirmation. Till the result is out, the person has to be in two days of self-quarantine. If the person tests positive after antigen test, he or she has to be admitted to a hospital. If the patient is discharged within 10 days, seven-day home quarantine is advised.
