Rwanda is among the latest top tourist destinations to obtain the world’s first-ever global safety and hygiene stamp, launched recently by the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC).
The safety stamp signifies that Rwanda has taken up the global standardized health and hygiene protocols that were formulated as per the experience of WTTC members dealing with COVID19. They are also based on guidelines from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Rwanda has adopted these global standards that are geared towards restoring traveler confidence. Rwanda’s number one priority is the health and well-being of visitors. Tourists are welcome for safe and memorable experiences – from seeing the Big 5 on safari, to trekking the magnificent mountain gorillas and numerous other primate species. Visitors are also welcome to travel around the country’s lush rainforests and learn about Rwanda’s vibrant culture.
Rwanda reopened tourism activities on June 17th this year. International tourism is expected to reopen on August 1st.
