GUWAHATI: Patients opting for home isolation in Guwahati city will now receive a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicines free of cost.
The move by state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma may encourage more people to opt for home isolation, sources in the health department said. The state allowed home isolation from last month, but only after an undertaking from applicants that the government won’t be responsible for any health consequence.
“From tomorrow (Monday), we will provide patients preferring to stay in home isolation a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicines completely free in Guwahati city. We have also activated the Tele Medicine service for them through 104. will expand it further to other places soon,” Himanta said in a tweet on Sunday evening.
He was hopeful that the Covid-19 positivity trend in Guwahati, which had slowed down, will be maintained.
