Punjab: ‘Dismiss Kalyan gurdwara committee’

PATIALA: Panthic Akali Lehar party accused Shiromani Akali Dal of protesting against the disappearance of the rare miniature saroop of the Guru Granth Sahib from Gurdwara Ardaspura Sahib in Kalyan village as a cover-up.
Party spokesperson Joga Singh Chappar said the SAD had been holding protests in Patiala despite the fact that nine out of 11 members of the Kalyan gurdwara management committee were associated with the party.
Before accusing the state government of failure to investigate the disappearance of the rare miniature saroop of Guru Granth Sahib, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) should have sought the resignation of the gurdwara management committee of Ardaspur Sahib gurdwara, he said. He added the management committee of the gurdwara had failed in its responsibility.
