
TN Board SSLC 10th Result 2020 Live Updates: The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination (TNDGE) released the result for the Secondary School leaving certificate examination (SSLC) or class 10 examination on Monday, August 10. Around 9.7 lakh candidates have passed the SSLC exams. The 100 per cent pass percentage was achieved as the state decided to promote all students since not all exams could be held due to COVID pandemic.
Students, however, will get their detailed marks based on quarterly and half-yearly assessments. Further 20 per cent weightage was also be given to attendance. The students having any grievances over their marks, can submit the required form at dge.tn.gov.in between August 17 and 25. The temporary provisional mark sheets can also be accessed from the website. The candidates need to secure at least 35 marks to pass the SSLC exam.
The board has sent the marks of the students directly to their mobile number registered. Meanwhile, the students can download their provisional marksheets through the websites- dge.tn.nic.in, tnresults.nic.in
Since 2018, the Tamil Nadu board has stopped 'advertising' or declaring the names of the top ranking students. Instead, it announced the city or district which registers the highest pass percentage. According to the DGE, the move is aimed to reduce the unhealthy competition
Out of the 9.7 lakh candidates who had passed the SSLC, class 10 exam this year, 4.71 lakh (4,71,759) are male candidates, while 4.68 lakh (4,68,070) are female candidates. There are 6,235 differently abled candidates who had passed the exam
The pass percentage in SSLC exam touched 100 per cent this year, as the government earlier declared all students passed. The SSLC exam was cancelled following the Madras High Court order

Candidates securing 35 marks each in all the six subjects out of 100. This implies one needs 35 out of 100 in each subject. For those subjects having 70 marks in theory, candidates need to secure 15 marks in theory and a total of 35 marks while there is no minimum marks requirement in the practical or internal section
The result of class 12 or Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) has been released. The pass percentage this year recorded at 92.3 per cent

Last year, as many as 95.2 per cent students passed the Tamil Nadu SSLC exam. The passing percentage of girls was recorded at 97 per cent, four percent high as compared to the boys. Among the districts, Sivagangai was the best performing district with pass percentage of 98.5 per cent.

As much as, 80 per cent of marks will be evaluated based on students’ performance in quarterly and half-yearly examinations and 20 per cent will be based on attendance, as per the government.
For the assessment of class 10, the state board has devised a new strategy to promote students. Now, the state would promote all the class 11 students and their marks will be calculated based on the internal assessment. The marks for the pending exam will be divided into two parameters.
