Chennai:
Tamil Nadu has reported 5,914 fresh Coronavirus cases on Monday, according to the bulletin released by the state's health department. The total number of Covid-19 cases in the state has crossed 3 lakhs now.
Chennai has detected 976 new Covid cases, while the other districts have reported 4,938 fresh infections. The death toll in the state has crossed 100 today. TN has reported 114 Covid fatalities today. The total number of fatalities in the state has increased to 5,041. On the green side, 6,037 patients have been discharged from various hospitals in the state today.
While Chennai is seeing a low in new cases, other districts in Tamil Nadu are contributing a large chunk to the freshly reported cases.
Thiruvallur and Chengalpet have recorded 399 and 483 new cases respectively. Kancheepuram has detected 310 Covid cases today.
The overall active cases in the state stand at 53,099 now.
