Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits that he used to tease Bidvest Wits with humour, but he will surely miss the outgoing Absa Premiership side.

The Clever Boys sold their Premier Soccer League (PSL) status to GladAfrica Championship Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) for an undisclosed fee in June.

Wits mentor Gavin Hunt will be unemployed as TTM CEO has previously revealed that the Limpopo side cannot afford the services of the four-time PSL-title winning coach.  

Meanwhile, Mosimane is adamant that Hunt will be able to find work as the former SuperSport United coach says that he has not been approached by any club yet.

"Wits have a big history, a big culture, you don't want to lose a team like this," Mosimane told the media during the post-match press conference following Sundowns 3-2 win over Wits in the Nedbank Cup semi-final.

"I used to jab them; I use to say that they only won one big trophy in 100 years. Just to put a humour on it. But what a good team.

"They've won cups, I mean Gavin is a credible coach. I don't think the coach will struggle to get a club. Sad to see them go, but business is business.

"Unfortunately, in Europe names remain, but in South Africa we change the names. There you see, Leeds United came back to the Premier League after how many years (16 years).

"But the names remain. Very sad to see Wits going but the youth is still there, probably they have a plan and they can come back."

Sundowns will now prepare for the restart of the Absa Premiership on Tuesday as they take on Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

Wits are set to take on Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night.
