As many as 1,256 Covid-19 cases and 10 deaths were reported in Telangana on Sunday, taking the total number of cases to 80,751 in the state. According to the state health department, the total number of cases includes 57,586 recoveries and 637 deaths so far.

Hong Kong reports 69 new coronavirus cases as local transmissions stay high

Hong Kong reported 69 new coronavirus cases on Monday, of which 67 were locally transmitted, as authorities battled to contain a resurgence of the virus over the last six weeks. Since late January, over 4,000 people have been infected in Hong Kong, 55 of whom have died. On Sunday, Hong Kong reported 72 new cases.

BMC starts second phase of sero-survey in Mumbai

The Mumbai civic body has started the second phase of sero-surveillance study in the city from Monday to assess the spread of Covid-19 and how many people have developed antibodies against the disease. The survey will cover F-North (Dadar, Matunga and Dharavi), M-West (Deonar and Govandi) and R-North (Dahisar) wards, where a similar study was conducted last month, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official said. The study will provide information about the spread of the infection and also throw light on herd immunity, he said.

Russia reports more than 5,100 new coronavirus cases

Russian authorities confirmed 5,118 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Monday, pushing the national case tally to 892,654, the fourth largest in the world. The official death toll rose to 15,001 after authorities said in their daily coronavirus report that 70 people had died in the last 24 hours.
