Rehman was admitted to the hospital for a kidney surgery. He underwent the Covid test, which is now mandatory, and tested positive. According to his family, the MLA has had fever for four-five days and needs a surgery to extricate a kidney stone.
Meanwhile, CPM leader and former MP Mohammed Salim, who had been admitted to Medica Superspecialty Hospital with Covid on August 3, was stable. Even though Salim has a lower respiratory tract infection, he is haemodynamically stable and on oxygen support. A team of critical care doctors are in charge of his treatment.
