Covid: 284 new cases, five deaths reported

Kanpur: For the second time in last eight days, new Corona cases fell below 300 mark. And on Saturday, 284 new Covid-19 cases were recorded by the health department. With this the total tally reached 8,095. While five more Covid-19 positive people succumbed, 90 positive patients who recovered from this disease were discharged from hospital. A total of 2,540 persons have been discharged from hospital. So far 261 people have died due to Covid-19. Now there are a total of 4,562 active cases and all of them are being treated.
The youngest covid patient who died on Saturday was a 35-year-old woman who was a resident of Colonelganj. She was also suffering from pneumonia. The other deceased were a 53-year-old man who was a resident of Chaubeypur, 66-year old man who was a resident of Cantt, 69-year-old man who was a resident of Avas Vikas, 48-year-old man who was a resident of Shyam Nagar. Health department stated that 763 teams visited 51,870 homes and conducted survey and 241 persons were identified who had symptoms for coronavirus. Health department also collected 2,600 samples for tests.
