DMK chief MK Stalin (File Photo)CHENNAI: DMK president MK Stalin on Sunday asked Tamil Nadu government to issue e-passes to the family members of the victims, who died in the landslide near Munnar. He also urged the government to arrange vans to facilitate their travel to Munnar.
“While reports say around 80 people were caught in the landslide, 29 bodies have already been recovered,” Stalin said.
Stalin through a social media post noted that most of the victims were from Kayathar near Kovilpatti.
He stated, “Tamil Nadu government should instruct the district collector to issue e-passes and arrange vans for the travel of the victims’ family members. While Kerala government has announced compensation, we need to ensure that the victims receive at least Rs 25 lakh as compensation.”
