Monday's weather: More rain for Cape Town but a fine day for the rest of SA

Fine weather conditions are expected across the country, but the Western Cape is set for another wet and cold day on Monday, according to the South African Weather Service.

A watch has been issued for gale force winds of 62km/h with gusts of about 88km/h along the coast between Cape St Francis and Port Alfred during the early morning.

The weather in your region:

Gauteng will have a fine and cool Monday. The expected UVB sunburn index is high.

It will also be fine and cool in Mpumalanga but warm in the Lowveld.

A cool to warm day is on the cards for Limpopo, but it will be hot in the Limpopo Valley.

The North West will have fine and cool conditions.

The weather will be fine and cool in the Free State but cold in the south.

Morning fog is expected over the western parts of the Northern Cape where it will be cold. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy and cool to cold in the west and south becoming fine to towards the afternoon.

The wind along the coast will be moderate north-easterly at first becoming fresh southerly to south-easterly.

The Western Cape will experience another cloudy and cold day in the south-west, with morning isolated rain and showers. Otherwise, it will be partly cloudy at times and cool.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh northerly to north-easterly north of Cape Columbine, becoming southerly to south-westerly as well as east of Cape Agulhas from mid-day, otherwise north-westerly fresh to strong.

The expected UVB sunburn index is low.

Conditions over the western half of the Eastern Cape will be cool with light rain in places along the coast in the morning. Otherwise, it will be cloudy and cold, becoming fine in the afternoon. The wind along the coast will be strong westerly, becoming light to moderate south westerly in the evening.

The eastern half of the province will be cloudy in the north and west in the morning. Otherwise, it will be fine and cool, but cold in the north. The wind along the coast will be fresh south westerly, but strong in the south until the evening.

Morning fog patches are expected over the interior of KwaZulu-Natal, otherwise it will be fine and cool. The wind along the coast will be moderate southerly to south-westerly.

The expected UVB sunburn index is moderate.
