Covid19-positive traveller gets test result in Tobago

AN individual who recentlly travelled from Trinidad to Tobago while waiting for a covid19 test result, has tested positive. According to a Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development press release on Saturday, the individual was tested in Trinidad but journeyed to Tobago before the result was received.

The person was confirmed positive and immediately isolated at the covid19 treatment facility at Fort King George. The patient is in stable condition.

Contact tracing has begun and primary contacts have already been notified, quarantined and tested for covid19.

The division also addressed a recent scare on the seabridge on August 8 when it was reported to the Count Medical Officer of Health that a passenger was exhiiting flu-like symptoms. The division said the passenger was medically examined and did not have flu-like symptoms.

On Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced 50 new cases of covid19, taking the overall total of cases to 275.
