The Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday cleared the confusion over the health status of COVID-infected Home Minister Amit Shah. Shah was diagnosed positive for coronavirus last week. According to a Union Home ministry official, the coronavirus test of Home Minister Amit Shah has not been conducted so far, as reported by news agency ANI.

In an earlier Tweet on Sunday morning, BJP MP Major Tiwari had said Home Minister Amit Shah had tested negative for COVID-19. “The COVID test report of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has come out to be negative,” Tiwari said in a tweet in Hindi as reported by ANI.

Shah was admitted to Gurgaon’s Medanta Hospital for treatment after he tested positive for coronavirus on August 2. He was the first Union Cabinet minister to test positive for the virus. After him, Union petroleum and steel minister Dharmendra Pradhan also tested positive for COVID-19.
