AHMEDABAD: Parents of a class 8 student in Vadodara have registered a complaint with the cyber cell after she received calls making obscene demands and use of expletives on her phone during online classes.

About 15 days ago, the girl had received a call from a Hindi-speaking youth. The youth had not just used a lot of expletives but had also indulged in obscene talk with her. The student informed her mother, who requested the caller to desist from harassing her daughter but the youth kept calling.

The mother had then threatened to file a police complaint with the cyber cell and trace him. Thereafter, the student started getting calls from another number.

The Vadodara cyber cell has started investigating the complaint and tracing the calls. Investigations revealed that while the first calls came from a caller in Uttar Pradesh, the calls after the threat to go to the police came from Dubai.

The cyber cell is now trying to investigate a person close to the class eight student.

After filing the complaint with the police, parents of the girl had also taken advice of a senior advocate and had thereafter changed the mobile phone as well as the sim card.

Parents had purchased a new phone and sim card but as soon as they were activated, the woman started receiving calls as the number had reached the caller.

The school authorities were shocked as to how the caller had this information and the police are now investigating to find an insider who is sharing information with the caller.
