In a major announcement, the Ministry of Defence on Sunday imposed import embargo on 101 defence items including weapons systems, assault rifles, corvettes, sonar systems, transport aircraft,  LCHs, radars. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, "The list is prepared by MoD after several rounds of consultations with all stakeholders, including  the Armed Forces, public & private industry."

Prime Minister will launch the financing facility worth Rs. 1 trillion under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund via video conferencing today. He will also release the sixth installment of funds worth Rs. 17,000 crore to 8.5 crore farmers under the PM-KISAN scheme.

At least seven people were killed in a fire at a hotel being used as Covid-19 facility in Vijaywada. 30 people have been rescued and search operation is underway. The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained.
