What caused the crash? Black box retrieved, probe begins

The civil aviation ministry’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) retrieved on Saturday the digital flight data recorder (DFDR), known as a black box, and the cockpit voice recorder from the wreckage of Air India Express Dubai-Kozhikode Flight IX 1344. The investigating team retrieved the black box and cockpit voice recorder after cutting into the floorboard of the cockpit.
