MEDITERRANEAN ODYSSEY WITH BETTANY HUGHES
New series ★★★½
7.30pm, SBS
The delightful British classical historian leads an indulgent armchair jaunt across the Greek Isles, tracing the path of Odysseus from Turkey to Ithaca. Hughes’ love for the place fairly radiates from her, and judging by the warm reception she receives at every stopover, the feeling is mutual. Whether she’s enjoying a soak in a volcanic jacuzzi or nibbling seafood aboard a boat, she has a historical or mythological tidbit to share. What a treat, in these stationary times.
Sex Party SecretsCredit:
SEX PARTY SECRETS
★★½
9.35pm, SBS Viceland
As titillating as it is curious, this peep into a self-described “exclusive” orgy party scene in the UK and Ibiza covers familiar ground of sexual repression released among like-minded revellers. The participants interviewed, all in elaborate Venetian masks and little else, some with their voices distorted, speak candidly of the thrills and satisfaction. The party planners, faces displayed, reveal a little more about their personal motivations.

GARDENING AUSTRALIA

Back by popular demand ahead of the spring special on Friday, August 28, is this first of two episodes showcasing the previous season’s highlights, as well as some helpful seasonal planting advice. Guest presenter, Steven Wells, a horticultural therapist, visits a sensory garden bringing joy to children.
