Jamshedpur: This year’s Independence Day will be a memorable event for frontline health workers and those who beat Covid-19 as the East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharswan administrations announced to felicitate them on the occasion.
East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Suraj Kumar asked the department heads to submit the list of frontline warriors of their respective departments to the administration by August 10.
Along with the medical staff, police and administration officials, health and sanitation workers, who helped in the fight against the virus, will be felicitated during the Independence Day celebrations, scheduled to be held at Gopal Maidan.
Incidentally, in the wake of increasing number of the COVID cases in the district and frontline health workers falling prey to the contagious disease, the East Singhbhum administration appealed to professionals in the medical field to voluntarily contribute their service.
Meanwhile, the administrations of both the districts announced special measures during Independence Day celebrations. School children will not be invited to the programme while freedom fighters will be felicitated by a team of administration officials at their respective homes.
