13 cops, 13 from Cantt, dist hosp CMS, 25 others test Covid positive in Jhansi

Jhansi: Two Covid patients died while 52 persons, including 13 police personnel, chief medical superintendent of the district hospital and 13 from Cantt Babina tested Covid positive on Friday. The total number of Covid deaths reported in the district has gone up to 77, while total number of Covid positive cases has reached 2,613.
The two deceased Covid patients include a 55-year-old woman and an 80-year-old man, both residents of Old City. Both were also suffering from diabetes.
As per Jhansi DM Andra Vamsi, 1,920 Covid patients have recovered and been discharged including 45 discharged on Friday. Presently, number of active positive cases in the district is 509. Of these, 79 are symptomatic—15severe, 12 moderate and 52 mild. Presently, 107 Covid patients are in home isolation. He further stated that the present CFR is 2.9 and the rate of recovery has gone up by 77.57%.
Meanwhile, 200 out of 210 Jhansi district jail inmates who were detected Covid positive few days ago, have turned negative. DM Vamsi said the rest of the ten inmates will be kept in isolation for two more weeks at the L1 Covid facility inside the district jail.
