Pune: SRPF jawans donate plasma at Sassoon Hospital

Pune: Nearly around 200 jawans of the Pune division of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), who were protecting civilians were transmitted with the novel coronavirus. However, they recovered from the victory over the contagion ins span of 28 days.

SRPF personnel from Group-I at Ramtedki donated plasma at the Sassoon General Hospital on Friday. At present 16 jawans were eligible for the plasma donation in the first phase. On this occasion, the State Reserve Police Force, the Pune Division Inspector General of Police (DIG) Naveen Kumar Reddy and the Sassoon's Coordinator-Counsellor and Medical Social Services Superintendent performed under the guidance of Dr Shankar Mugave.

"Blood samples of 65 volunteers have been sent to the Sassoon General Hospital blood bank for testing. Eligible soldiers donated plasma to the blood bank in phases on Friday after other reports they will be undergoing the same process,” said Navin Kumar Reddy, Inspector General of Police, State Reserve Police Force, (SRPF), Pune Division.

Muralidhar Tambe, Superintendent, Sassoon General Hospital welcomed the soldiers with certificates and bouquet expressing gratitude. Doctors from Sassoon hospital had conducted counselling session to create awareness about plasma donation.
