Pune: In a bizarre incident, a husband, who inquired his wife about her late-night calls and chats, was allegedly beaten up by her and her two children.
The incident came to light after the husband, Krishna (55), a resident of Ganesh Nagar in Bhopkhel lodged a complaint with Digdi police station, which falls under the jurisdiction of Pimpri Chinchwad Police commissionerate. Based on the complaint, the police have lodged a case against his wife, who has been identified as Kalpana (43) and her two children named Ajay (24) and Kajal (22). In this regard, the police have booked the trio under the relevant sections of Indian Penal Code of assault.
The incident took place at Ganesh Nagar, Bopkhel on Friday around 3.30 pm. According to police, the complainant Krishna was at home at 3.30 pm on Friday. "From the past couple of months, he noticed his wife was always on phone calls, and she continued to be on calls and chats late at night. As he was curious about the same, he asked his wife about who talks to late at night. On hearing, the wife who was in the kitchen came out, started beating him with kitchen utensils," he said.
He also added, saying, "When he tried to defend himself, his son strangled him, and his daughter threatened to kill him. Krishna went into shock due to this attempt and approached us. We rushed him to the hospital as he had sustained injuries on his hand, face, back and head. Based on the medical report we have filed the case and are investigating it."
